Skull Installations

I really enjoy artist Laura Keeble‘s sense of humor. On closing night for Damien Hirst exhibit at the White Cube Mason’s yard, his diamond skull For the Love of God was being gingerly put away by gallery staff. Laura Keeble took it upon herself to pay homage to the artist, by recreating his skull and then chucking it in front of the gallery steps.

The Damien Hirst Skull is composed of platinum, diamond, and human teeth. The skull has 8,601 diamonds and 1,106.18 carats. It is the most expensive piece of art ever created, costing $16 to $20 million to make, and $99 million to buy. ( $99 million?!)
