Fat Freddy’s Drop : Pull the Catch

Having been holed up in the studio for well over 12 months, Fat Freddy’s Drop have finally unveiled the title of their album to be “Big BW”. Set for a physical UK release in Spring 2009. Today I share with you “Pull to Catch”, the first single from their new album which releases tomorrow.

HUMöR from Denmark is an interesting menswear line, their philosophy is to create a style which mix materials, designs, details and colors to create an overall look. ” We are working on a total look, which is heavily influenced by the metropolitan underground music. The DJ culture is alive and kicking in New York, Berlin, London and Copenhagen.” A major source of inspiration in this connection is Tokyo´s Shibuya area, where the fashion crowd is giving an entirely new meaning to the word paint box.

This is an editorial from the Winter issue of V Man,  that drew me in so deep. It is a forgotten art to create garments with so much love and craftsmanship. And to juxtapose it with this style of photography seemed so moody and appropriate. I can not figure out if photographer Richard Burbridge really played withe lighting or if the images we masked in post. Either way it was a brilliant execution for this project of highlighting the true craft of each piece.  I Nearly died when I saw the piece above by Burberry, a cashmere sweater with hand sewn and painted feathers! what!
