Motivated by his mother Andrew Ek began drawing at an early age, mostly dinosaurs and animals – Then in 1982, after his father committed suicide his drawings became much darker and he became obsessed with horror movies, literature, comics. Andrew’s oil paintings are really intriguing to me, His female subject are always attractive in a kind of magic realism style.
