Showtime Networks and Metropolitan Home have joined forces to present The Showtime House. They redesigned this $20 million Gramercy Park brownstone into “a beacon of modernism inspired by six Showtime original series,” set to unveil in September. The Showtime House is a perfect example of the kind of collaborations that we will probably start to see in this economy. Collaborations have been growing more and more popular but they have been few and rare on this scale, and what a brilliant marketing stunt! The interior desiners will be drawing inspiration from Dexter™, Californication, The Tudors, Weeds, The L-Word® and United States of Tara to create these spaces. Below is my favorite.

This is what I can call a typical French Style Illustrations – French duo ” Mesdemoiselles ” (Aurelie Castex & Claire Laude) are frequently approached by Creative Agencies for the Luxury Market, because of their distinct style and meticulous graphic executions. READ MORE

Woodpigeon : Piano Pieces for Adult Beginners

Canadian group/ensemble Woodpigeon has just release their double album, “The Treasury Canada/ C/W Houndstooth Europa”, and just returned from their Eurotour. It must be hard in this group of seven to come up with song names since all of them are practically sentences. I guess everyone has to get a word in.
Anyway you definitely have to check out this album, its pretty melo but has these great moments of epiphany, transporting you directly to cloud nine.

This is the work of Swedish photographer Carl Kleiner.
His photography portrays abstraction, glamour, portrait and fashion in imagery. His work is very inventive, the soft tones and colourings are awesome.

Inspired by his studies in science and an expression coined by Frank Lloyd Wright, “Each material has its own message”, artist Christian Faur has a wide rang of work experimenting with materials such as crayons, shredded paper, oil, encaustics, and fabric and fiber in a very unique way. His crayon and shredded paper works are Trompe l’oeil’s achieved by placing color whether it be the crayons or pieces of lighter or darker paper to create the image he wants us to see.

From the Artist
In my work, I try to mimic these elegant structures of nature by developing systems of my own with which to express my thoughts and ideas, so that the medium and the message appear as one. I think of it like a game, with a set of axioms that are established at the outset through the limitations of the material or forms from which the work is constructed, which then dictates what can and cannot be “said” within the boundaries of the chosen medium. This material limitation can also be a strength, as there is the potential to contain thoughts and ideas in unique ways, so that the “medium” can become the “message.” This intertwining of form and function can be seen most directly in my most recent work, which is comprised of crayons and shredded paper.
