There are soooo many great Make-up artist out there, and when it’s well done, the result is just Stunning !! One of the Masters of this art is definitely Sylvia Dell’ Orto but there also plenty of less known make up artist with great talent. As you probably already figured out, we LOVE photography at TrendLand but we also review Stylists and Makeup & Hair maestros, and at the end you see that is what makes great photography: The Team! The team you work with is as important as the model or the choice of lighting or clothes, and when you see some amazing editorials, its a result of all this talent blending together to make perfect imagery. Make-up artist are definitely one of the important links needed to produce a brilliant shot. Here is a little compilation of Beauty/make-up shots that I love !

Yang Li is an ambitious young designer we featured last year (see review here), currently in his last year at Central Saint Martins. I was pleasantly surprised, when I checked out his website, to discover how well it was designed and executed. The home page shown above is designed with conceptual logos that link into little design project books created by Li. There is some really cool stuff in there and tons of beautiful illustrations. From the butterfly book I choose to share with you the deconstruction of t-shirts concepts in which he shows you what you will need to create the t-shirts photographed. No time for getting bored, grab a pair of scissors and all the tees you can find at home, and get started!

Looks like another big Trend is coming our way: Its called the Pattern Mix: a mix of colors and pattern ( especially African ones) all worn together. So how do we do it? Simple. You mix different colors , patterns and fabrics. Consider wearing plaid or animal print with stripes, floral prints with stripes, polka dots or animal prints, and any of fall’s random patterns with animal prints or floral prints, as well. It is similar to a Gypsy-Chic look. I Like it ! These two editorial show it pretty well:
Edito #1 from Mixte Magazine (Model: Kendra Spears )- Edito #2 from The Time Style (Model: Arlenis Sosa)

“These decorative elements are set against the carefully considered bold geometric structures that are Borba Margo’s signature, creating a unique balance between minimalism and excess that is surely the aesthetic for today. ”

Coming from a womenswear background designers/collaborators Anderson Borba DaSilva and Jessika Margo Goransson, of Borba Margo, bring something very new and unique to the accessories market. Acutely conscious of the female body as they design their collections, Borba Margo incorporates many techniques used in creating garments, which you can see throughout their ss09 collection, shown here. The collection is innovative and excessive, taking risks but prudent in all its decisions to make it absolutely versatile and most importantly wearable. Stay tuned for AW 09/10 collection review, coming in the next few days.
