Josh Goot : Color Blocking FW 09/10

josh-goot-fw09-10-collection-1

After we introduced the incoming Color-Blocking Trend back in the end of 2007, we started to see a lot of color blocking stories the following year. Pretty much every fashion magzine did at least one color-blocking fashion editorial, and many designers, from high fashion to the commercial masses tuned into the trend and created collection with this concept as an infuence. We saw a lot, some great designs and some herendus! But after the trend hasĀ  passed British designer, Josh Goot has delivered a beautiful execution of timeless color-blocking. This is not the first collection that he has used and mastered this concept, but this one is very different from past ones. I am obviously a sucker for monochromatic stories as well as the Mod, black and white contrasts in design so this collection holds a very soft spot in my heart.

Irina Shaposhnikova

Irina Shaposhnikova

I was absolutely blown away when I saw one of Irina Shaposhnikova‘s knitted pieces in Russian Vogue. She is about to graduate from the MA at Antwerp Royal Academy of Fine Arts this coming June, so You won’t have to wait long to see more of her highly anticipated knitted creations.

These pieces are from her last collection at the Academy of arts. I can’t speak for anyone else but I definitely haven’t seen knit like this before. The cables are sewn onto almost invisible nylon mesh giving a knitted cabled cage affect.
