Each summer, for 4 summers now, 3 months at a time, Ryan McGinley and friends have traveled across the United States shooting photographs of their journeys. For this series, Moonmilk, the crew find themselves in caves, some of which have never been touched, stepped inside, or documented before. READ MORE
Romanian model Catrinel Menghia now resides in Milan and this black and white photo shoot for Aubade Agenda would even convince Federico Fellini that she is full blooded Sicilian beauty. With the help of Menghia’s beauty, this unnamed photographer has captured the essence and style of Italy in the 1960s.
Aussie Super Star Model, Jess Hart is breaking in on a global scale so keep your eyes peeled for this gap-tooth smiling beauty. We first saw her in the Guess Campaign, which was a big breaking point for her. Since then she has been offered to be the lead in The City with her British beau boyfriend Nicolas Potts, but refused and has since appeared as a guest star on the show. Most recently Hart has shot for Sports Illustrated, another major sign of a rising star. I think the only thing holding her back from being the new it girl is how blonde she is, I wanna see a bit more of her natural root exposed.
I really liked what I saw in the Neil Barret SS 2010 runway collection. The elongated silhouettes and color and fabric contrasts were a great step in a new direction for him. Double breasted finely tailored jackets and two-column plackets on the shirts give his man a sleek and very fashion forward look, without making him an eye soar. Keeping in the black, white, and gray palette made all the detailing pop.
Crocodiles : Soft Skull (In My Room)
San Diego zoo has a couple motionless crocodiles you can look at through a glass window, but San Diego the city created the far from motionless band of the same name. Rumor has it that the Crocodiles‘ lead singer has some pretty fancy footwork on the stage and he may look like Bob Dylan but don’t go calling him Bob or Dylan. The duo made use of the drum machine in such a way in Soft Skull (In My Room) it is definitely a hit at first listen. The band also has a blog somewhat appropriately [and hilariously] entitled KILL KILL KILL KILL KILL KILL KILL KILL. Appropriate in that their album released earlier this year is called Summer of Hate and the second song on it is called I Wanna Kill. Despite all these negative titles, their music happens to uplift the listener; it is not at all harsh on the ears nor does it make one want to put razor to wrist. They recently toured with UK band The Horrors but catch them live touring with UK bands Pens and Graffiti Island on their West Coast Summer Tour – Coming to a Spaceland near you this coming Thursday August 27th, Los Angeles! ..and you can look at these Crocodiles from the front row, kill a glass window.
