Triangle is the first “scarf capsule collection” by Anna Molinari which will present three foulards inspired by the artist’s relationship with his hometown (in this case, London).

Swash is a fashionable partnership between two Central St Martins graduates, Sarah Swash and Toshio Yamanaka. The pairs Spring/Summer 2010 collection is called ‘Dream Machine’ and is feminine yet formal and heavily print based. Sarah’s influence is the eccentric English humour – where as Toshio is a perfectionist pattern cutting.

Meet Jónsi, the guitarist and vocalist for the Icelandic post-rock band Sigur Rós. Known for being blind in one eye, using a cello bow on a guitar, being part of an art collaboration and now also known as a solo artist. With Sigur Rós taking an “indefinite hiatus” from music this year he is working on his solo effort said to contain predominantly acoustic music and string arrangements from classical composer Nico Muhly. This particular track is off the upcoming album and is an interesting mix of banging drums and random percussion instruments all beautifully cradled by a subtle flute. If you are like me and cant wait till may to get his album then you will be happy to know that he will be releasing an EP in roughly a month, but till then enjoy this…

The young designers runway was by far the most interesting part of  the catwalk presentation through Istanbul Fashion Week. It was there that we saw Istanbul’s bright shinning and fast rising star, Zeynep Tosun, Maragoni BA and MA graduate. The 28 year old designer learned her couture from working at Alberta Ferretti where designing meant constructing. There was no sketching, it was all highly detailed and intricate construction that led to a garments consideration as part of the next collection.

These photos hardly do the Zeynep Tosun’s collection any justice, as the true workmanship is only really clear in the touch. You will be hearing and seeing much more on this designer very soon. READ MORE

Although Mike Posner was previously featured by Cyanatrendland last september I could not help but to share this track. The 22-year-old Duke University senior is quite the talent, not only producing his own music but singing and songwriting too. Cooler Than Me featuring hip hop artist Big Sean, despite it’s 2009 release on Mike’s album Mike Posner & the Brain Trust has still not yet penetrated the popular market. The song is about all of those girls out there who think they are better than everyone and never stop to give a guy the time of day to shine. Mike’s skills definitely shine and I expect for this talent to blow up in the very near future.
