CK One Vending Machine in Paris Metro

If you have been traveling through the following airports lately -BNA in Nashville, TN; LAS in Las Vegas, NV; IND in Indianapolis, IN; DFW in Dallas, TX; JFK in Queens, NY; or IAH in Houston, TX- then I am certain you have noticed the Sephora vending machines starting pop-up a bit everywhere. It is a quick fix to your travel beauty needs right at your finger tips as you wait to board your flight. Pretty brilliant, but I have been seeing this vending machine trend coming since early last year at least, when we pitched a client on s street campaign involving strategic placement of branded vending machines. I thought it was pretty ingenious at the time, but they weren’t ready. Story of our lives!

For the relaunch of CK One, Sephora has released a vending machine in the Paris Metro, selling a 10 euro bottle of CK One. The campaign is present in stations La Défense, Charles-de-Gaulle-Étoile, Montparnasse et Miromesnil and is set to last till the 20th of February. With Paris’s stank-ass metro I couldn’t have thought of a better city to present the campaign in.

Gil Scott-Heron : Me And The Devil

Gil Scott-Heron has been off the music radar for about 13 years.  That’s a pretty long hiatus for the man who has been called “the godfather of rap” and “the black Bob Dylan.”  But he is back.  His newest release is not like the rest of Scott-Heron’s music, in that it’s main focus isn’t politics, but rather the singer/poet/author himself.  I’m New Here is an introspective piece that expresses Gil’s current state of mind as well as what brought him to where he is.  The album is a mix of songs, spoken word recordings, and interludes of Gil speaking.  Me and the Devil is a cover of a Bobby “Blue” Bland song.  The song has a simple bluesy background beat that allows for Gil’s soulful voice to take center stage.

House of Holland for Blackberry

House of Holland is launching an app for BlackBerry smartphones to allow customers to buy pieces direct from the runway as they are shown at London Fashion Week on 20th of February. Great idea, though I really don’t feel that it will be really useful. It is more of a marketing gimmick than anything. – Read more about it on Dazed Digital.
