For the promotion of their new Spanish online store, Louis Vuittonlaunched few viral videos – where everyone is looking for (Pedro Almodovar’s favorite and Spain’s most famous actress) Rossy de Palma, who has mysteriously disappeared. Usually not a fan of irony, Louis Vuitton shows a delightful dose of humor in their last Spanish marketing operation. (see them all below)
Rossy de Palma, who had already designed a line of fans for the brand in 2009, is now the center of a series of short videos describing her disappearance. Her director, her coach, her mother and her neighbor are looking for her in despair and getting quite angry. It feels very much like home, for Almodovar lovers. Encore! READ MORE
LCD Soundsytem’s latest and possibly last album is due out for release on May 18th by DFA Records, even though the album was announced to have been finished on Feb. 23rd. The band recorded the album in a mansion that had a recording studio in it in the Hollywood hills because the band’s leader, James Murphy, likes to be completely immersed in the album creation process with as little distractions as possible. To be honest, his dedication and concentration has payed off.
HEALTH is an experimental noise rock band from Los Angeles gearing up to release their second remixed album on Lovepump United called DISCO2. I saw HEALTH open for electro-punk rock group Crystal Castles the other night and as soon as I heard them perform the only new material off their up-coming album, a track by the name of “USA Boys“, it made me think twice about the potential of this band. I always new HEALTH had some pop sensibility in them and I have always championed their remixes, especially Crystal Castles track “Crime Wave“, but it wasn’t until I heard this new track a few days ago that I saw just how accessible this so called “noise rock” band can be.
Multi-disciplinary French artist Francois Marie Banier likes to paint over his photographs. And the result is transforming! The artist paints, photographs and writes books as well – If you remember, he was the one who painted the Diane Von Furstenberg ss09 campaign (below) – What’s better then painting colorful splashes on black & white photographs!?
