Girls : Laura


Still reeling from Coachella weekend and nursing a cold to boot, we’re gonna keep things a little simple for this week. Formed in 2007, GIRLS are from San Francisco. They’re not girls. Mostly. The band has received critical acclaim from the New York Times and Pitchfork Media as well as numerous other print and digital outlets. Their album “Album” (September 2009, True Panther Sounds) reached #136 on the Billboard 200. “Laura” is a great modern day love song pulling strong influence from the likes of the venerable Elvis Costello while still managing to stand out in it’s own right.
