Brazilian photographer Bruno Cals is known for his fashion and advertising photography but his Horizon series, currently exhibiting at 1500 Gallery in New York City, shows a completely different perspective of his work. In this personal project he has been working on since 2008, Cals captures frames of buildings in Sao Paulo, Tokyo and Buenos Aires and “explores the limits of two-dimensionality”.
Yii was started by the Taiwan Craft Research Institute to stimulate a more creative conversation between Taiwanese designers and traditional craftsmen. The collection revolves around 3 main themes, Inspired by Nature, Cultivation and Sustainability. It’s the result of 15 designers working together with 20 master craftsmen and went on show at the salone di mobile at the Triennale of Milan.
DOM is a trio from Worcester, Massachussets. The band is named after its leader, Dom, who is quite a character himself. He refuses to release his last name because he “owes money” and he is obsessed with his cat, Bochicha. Not only is his cat’s picture on the album cover of their EP, but he has named a song after his cat as well, which he claims is the official face-off song for his local hockey team(it isn’t).
