I saw an image yesterday that caught my eye on CLM’s site and I literally had to look through all the set designers and photographers listed on the site to get to the second to last photographer and discover that the image above was photographed by Jenny Van Sommers. I knew that if I hunted down the photographer it would lead to some other fantastic work, so it was worth all the digging.

British designer Karen Ryan was invited by Balloon Contemporary in Chicago and commissioned to create a collection of “Custom Made” chairs from discarded chairs and other scraps. Inspired by American culture and childhood narratives and the Adventures of Mark Twain’s Huckleberry Fin, she came up with a series of chairs that mixed cultural paraphernalia.
