Today the British Fashion Council (BFC) announced the names of the 21 designers who were chosen to receive the BFC NEWGEN sponsorship, supported by Topshop, to show at London Fashion Week (LFW) in September 2010 (see Press Release here). Among them I was happy to find J. JS Lee, a new brand, I had not yet heard of. Korean designer Jackie Lee has quite an intensive pattern cutting curriculum under her belt.
Portland based artist Meredith Dittmar creates these very curious clay amalgams of “human-animal-plant-energy”. Her tender extraterrestrial looking creatures live in invented landscapes inspired by diagrams, math and words that the artist has collected over time. The Crayola Crayon carver, Diem Chau, that we reviewed not a long time ago just finished her latest project with W+K (Wieden+Kennedy) for Nike : The Write the Future Press Kit (following their sick commercial). A nice idea and packaging (even tho the players dont really look like themselves).
