KO by Anthony James


This is the work of British artist Anthony James, who graduated (with honors) form Central St Martins. I personally think James’s work is deeply inspired by Damien Hirst, that is particularly what I thought when I saw this piece:  KO is a sculpture of  a wrecked Ferrari 355 Spider, birch and fluorescent lights created in 2008.

Kim Kyung Soo for Korean Vogue


I came across this beautiful editorial photographed by Kim Kyung Soo for Korean Vogue sometime last year and I just had to share. The editorial is such a rich and definitely somewhat glamorized depiction of the traditional Korean dress. I love the geometric hairstyles juxtaposed with the voluminous dresses.

Color Pad by Klas Ernflo


I am completely lured by Swedish Illustrator/Graphic artist Klas Ernflo’s Color Pad series. His bold palettes appear as perfect accidents of paint dropping on a canvas, and colors failing to blend into one and other, though I am certain his process is secretly a lot more meticulous than that. Ernflo’s integration of graphic textiles seem to create another dimension to the work, that makes it even more special.

Bolle Bottles by Tapio Wirkkala for Venini


So pretty but Oh so expensive ! The Bolle Bottles designed by Tapio Wirkkala in 1968 for Venini, are just pieces of art ! This series of five bottles employs the “Incalmo” technique wherein two different types of glass, worked separately, are fused together to obtain, within a single object, separate areas differentiated by colors.
