These incredible vintage feeling, mixed media illustrations are from the talented Croatian graphic design student Matija Drozdek. A number of his illustrations and designs were published, and he is currently working on different freelance jobs, doing magazine layouts, graphic design, web collaborations and photography.
I was checking out Wallpapers highlight on Rotterdam Design 2010 and of the designers we have not yet featured Ellen Urselmann’s work captured my attention most. Glass master sculptor, Urselmann has a beautiful collection of everyday objects reconfigured. I love her concepts and the juxtaposition of the foundation object and the added glass work as a interpretative connotation.
Imke klee is a stylist, photographer and trend analyst at Li Edelkoort (Trend Union) in Paris. I just stumbled over these beautifully executed color-coded pictures of ‘things’, that probably finish in a Trend Union book.
Currently up at Foam Fotographiemuseum Amsterdam is a retrospective of Inez van Lamsweerde & Vinoodh Matadin work over the last 25 years, titled “Pretty Much Everything”. The exhibition spans 300 photographs taken by the duo over the years.
Reed Young‘s photographs are full of emotions and narrative…Whether its a story on blind people, Mormons, the population of Barrow, Alaska or a retired sumo super star in Japan, Reed captures it beautifully.
