By the streamlined looks of Carga’s designs it comes as no surprise to me that designer Mauro Bianucci trained as an architect in his native Argentina, before moving to New York to work as a retail architect in 2000.I guess when you fuse together a knowledge of architecture and Argentina’s reputation for leather goods this is what you get. I love the minimalistic design and refined use of construction-like hardware. The computer sleeves are a great idea for Holiday gifts.

Brooklyn, New York natives and disco phenomenon, Midnight Magic, have portrayed the essence of vintage disco to a tee. If not for a really good friend of mine making me a really good mixed CD, I would have not known of this group. The disco ball shining, feet tapping, finger snapping, and booty shaking tune is the ultimate dance song that highlights the true vibe and scene of an extremely influential decade in our time. I’m looking forward to their next production.

Here at Trendland we are huge fans of Damien Blottiere (see more on him here). It is hard to credit him as a photographer because he is so much more than that. He is a visionary creative director with a very distinguishable style. Here is a peek at his latest work for Dazed & Confused December 2010 issue. The editorial is called “Cut & Paste” and features all Calvin Klein pieces. SEE FULL EDITORIAL HERE

Following the success of Mark Fast’s collection for Topshop this year is his new ‘luxury basics’ line called ‘Faster‘. Faster fashion at faster prices is the idea behind any diffusion line, but Mark Fast is making sure that the quality is top notch by producing with an Italian atelier using the most advanced seamless knit technology. ‘Faster” offers a range of wardrobe basics that aims to bridge the gap between the high street and Mark’s handmade knitted dresses that retail for up to £3,000. For this project he has brought Julia Restoin Roitfeld as Creative Consultant. The collections’ prices range between $25 – $400 and can be found at Seven and Curve in NY.
