Hybrid Sculpture by Dev Harlan

The NY based multidisciplinary artist Dev Harlan’s hybrid practice combines the physical and the virtual with the use of sculpture, light and projection. As a self educated artist, designer and cg director, Devan’s uniquely identifiable aesthetic language and reductionist approach place his work at the forefront of a new mode of media arts practice: The video mapping. Watch video below for a full effect.

Pyramid II is a hybrid media sculpture which exploits the simplicity and harmony of pure geometric form, and then transcends physicality to become an incandescent prism of refracted space.

While the sculptural formalism draws from Pythagorean tenants of pure symmetry, the manipulation of light and color puncture this thin membrane of dull matter.

A hypnotic simultaneity takes over, leaving the viewer hovering at the threshold of the limited and the limitless.
