Meet Neon Hitch. Her real name is well, Neon Hitch. Her unique title from birth matches her upbringing, which as I’ve gathered, involved traveling the world by bus as a street performer, and trapeze artist. Have I got your attention? Then, there’s her music. The young bud, “took up singing,” as she casually puts it, to write about her adventures in India, where she ran away to when she was 16 years of age. This nonchalant hobby has proved to be productive to say the least. The now London-based misfit has worked with Imogen Heap, Ke$ha, Mike Posner, 3OH!3, Bruno Mars, Jason Derulo, Cathy Dennis, Greg Kirsten, Ryan Tedder, Rivers Coumo (Weezer), David Brook, and Sky Ferreira. Quite the list.

But it was her own spunky, sexy vocals and eccentric ‘tude that landed her a deal with Warner Bros. Records. As of now, Neon is working on her album Beg, Borrow, and Steal alongside producer Benny Blanco, the man with a musical midas touch no artist would turn down. I commend her  ambitiousness and her wonderfully done “Drop It Like Its Hot” cover of Snoop Dogg himself. It’s a lady-like tribute complete with high-pitched funkiness and a sweet twist of psychedelic fun. And although I fear this track may be a hit or miss for you fellas, I hope everyone enjoys–machos included! You know it’s hot.
