His shocking precision makes his work remarkably unbelievable. 35-year-old Chinese artist Liu Bolin, camouflages himself in any surroundings, and you can see here that there is no background too difficult for him. Bolin may spend upwards of 10 hours at any given moment to achieve his desired effect. He works from photographs, capturing a specific image and then painting himself to fit inside that exact photo before retaking it with himself inside.
Liu Bolin says his art is a protest against the actions of the Government, who shut down his art studio in 2005 and persecutes artists. It’s about not fitting into modern society. Despite problems with Chinese authorities, Liu’s works are appreciated at an international level.
