Based on his first ever Resort 2012 collection and video presentation, it is safe to assume Henry Holland must have teleported to Guatemala in the 80′s sometime this year. For his presentation he collaborated with Mariano Vivanco to create a spoof off of Neneh Cherry’s ‘Buffalo Stance’ (1989) video, only his features Eliza Cummings wearing his Resort 2012 collection and covering “Buffalo Stance”.
It is always a lot of fun to see what designers do for their Resort collections. It is the delivery that always seems to break expectations of Houses reputations. There seems to be more freedom and perhaps a bit more humor and ease in these collections. We can definitely sense all of this in Burberry Prorsum’s Resort 2012 Collection, channeling the call of Africa. The direct references in the textile development and prints make no subtle reference,
