Yum! Preen’s S/S 2012 collection makes me think of a beautiful 1950′s housewife baking cupcakes in her all pastel color-coordinated island kitchen. But it seems the palette send my mind in a different frame of inspiration then what designers Thea Bregazzi and Justin Thornton had in mind. The streamlined silhouette modernized what seemed like a very retro inspiration to me. Bregazzi and Thorton were actually very inspired by Virginia Woolf when they began designing this collection, “She was such a strong woman in her time,” Bregazzi said after the show. READ MORE

In YSL’s latest video, model and muse Raquel Zimmermann strikes a pose like there’s nothing to it. The in-demand model—just seen dancing her shoes off in another viral video for Lanvin—works her way through a range of poses and all 14 looks from the line’s latest A/W 2011-2012 collection. This includes a mostly black-and-white selection of stunning pantsuits, tweed match sets, silk shirts, and fluffy white fur jackets.

I am a big fan of Ohne Titel, so it is always one of the most anticipated shows for me during NYFW. The Ohne Titel S/S 2012 Collection stayed true to their graphic roots and delivered some easy to wear looks but overall I was a bit dissappinted. I did not feel that they dug deep enough for this collection, but the designers did mention they were tapping into a new territory. Also the neck pieces were a huge distraction for me, as soon as I see feathers these days my mind just shuts off, I do not care how you do feather accessories, they are done and done for the rest of this decade. The third innovation born from the collaborative efforts of designer Lindsey Thornburg, photographer/director Olivia Malone and director/editor Crystal Moselle follows two mischievous “clowns” as they gallivant through the countryside. The films inspiration comes from French new wave films and psychedelic directors such as Jean Rollin and Alejandro Jodorowsky.
