David Slijper’s Photography

” I like women to be real, like them to be beautiful, and I like them to have composition”, said British photographer David Slijper in a backstage interview for a Natalie Portman shoot. Though Slijper is mostly known for shooting fashion photography his approach is much more that of a still life photographer than one of a fashion photographer. Most interested in form and shape, and a “controlled visions” he achieves images can often be described as unique fine art fashion photography. His editorial work has appeared in many fashion publications including Vogue France, Vogue Japan, Vogue Germany, Vogue China, Vogue UK, GQ Style, Flair, Dazed & Confused, i-D, Numero, and Pop, while his  commercial work can be seen in campaigns for clients including Burberry, H&M, Jimmy Choo, YSL Homme, Sergio Rossi, Calvin Klein, byblos, and L’oreal.
