Gianfranco Ferre S/S 2012

With Stefano Citron and Federico Piaggi now at the forefront of Gianfranco Ferre, it’s only natural that they greeted the public with a fresh taste of what is yet to come.

Explaining that “a new image” and “a free, sensual, determined woman” was their focus, the designer duo definitely delivered a clean, optimistic, collection. They seem to have picked up from the late founder’s legacy, with a slew of asymmetric cuts, statement suits, and crisp, cropped tops. Minimalist looks, with slight riffs and stand-out details. The collection, apart from occasional pops of pink and purple, was predominantly neutral in color, with thick, long belts punctuating almost every look.

A strong first step into the fashion scene, with everyone definitely keeping a close eye on what comes next.
