Ostwald Helgason F/W 2012

Written by Guest Blogger Michele llanos

The illusive and highly coveted label, Ostwald Helgason’s presentation last week showcased yet another collection where art, technology, history and textile experimentation combine to create a very specific end result. The narrative came from the Terra Nova expedition where Norway and Britain raced to Antarctica in the 19th century. Reworked official naval uniform originals, with images of sinking ships and octopuses printed on boxy, over-sized sweatshirts and striped knit sweaters, voluminous printed skirts and dresses, made for a collection that is wearable, comfortable and intelligent. Carried at Opening Ceremony and Browns, you will be sure to see these pieces on those who appreciate an effortless and elegant point of view.
