Sagaki Keita’s Pen Drawings

From a distance, Sagaki Keita‘s work simply look like recreations of the usual, old classics. But as you step closer, you’ll see that each one is actually composed of compressed, manically-drawn doodles and iconic commercial characters. This unexpected tongue-in-cheek hybrid is the brainchild of the artist’s childhood love of comics and graffiti, and is drawn directly onto paper—without a single draft being done—with just a 0.38 mm pen.

With each piece being about a few feet in length, and taking anywhere from a few weeks to 10 months for Sagaki to complete, just how the prolific artist was able to create 12 pieces during 2011 alone is amazing in itself.
