It has been awhile since we have written about Maria Francesca Pepe’s work (see previous article here) , but in my aimless perusing the other day I came across her SS 2010 collection and it felt so pertinent. The gothic-punk aesthetic has been surfacing as a trend for a while now and she does a really great job delivering that vibe in a much more elegant and avant-garde way than we are used to seeing. The clothing still serve as a minimalistic canvas to her jewelry but this collection is much more thoughtful than the one before. I am loving the long and drapy silhouettes, which are by no coincidence making their way back into the style chamber. Stay tuned for a review on Full Length Trend…

Seems like countless magazines are telling me that fashion hats are back. This news, along with Halloween coming up, made me remember that it’s been about 6 months since Isabella Blow, who rocked the coolest and most avant-garde hats, passed away. Along with being an international style icon, director, and muse, she discovered model Sophie Dahl and designer Alexander McQueen.Though she is no longer with us , her mark on fashion continues.
