It is always a lot of fun to see what designers do for their Resort collections. It is the delivery that always seems to break expectations of Houses reputations. There seems to be more freedom and perhaps a bit more humor and ease in these collections. We can definitely sense all of this in Burberry Prorsum’s Resort 2012 Collection, channeling the call of Africa. The direct references in the textile development and prints make no subtle reference,

Here is a preview of the beautiful Burberry men’s accessories collection which was previewed during the Burberry Prorsum SS 09 menswear catwalk show. The Bags featured include totes in tarnished alligator, cotton canvas and soft natural grain leather with a color palette including tan, chocolate, stone, sand, bark and mushroom. All bags contain functional fitted pockets for holding mobile phones, MP3 players and PDA’s. Prices start at $1095 (SS09 men’s accessories collection will be available  Dec. 2009 in Burberry stores & Burberry.com). The Menswear accessories collection also features shoes, small leather goods, belts and jewelery.

This is an editorial from the Winter issue of V Man,  that drew me in so deep. It is a forgotten art to create garments with so much love and craftsmanship. And to juxtapose it with this style of photography seemed so moody and appropriate. I can not figure out if photographer Richard Burbridge really played withe lighting or if the images we masked in post. Either way it was a brilliant execution for this project of highlighting the true craft of each piece.  I Nearly died when I saw the piece above by Burberry, a cashmere sweater with hand sewn and painted feathers! what!
