Pier 59 vs. Milk — New York’s two powerhouse fashion photography studios — are joining forces to raise money for the athletic development of troubled youth. Pier 59 will be raising money for The Beach Channel Lacrosse Team. Started just 3 years ago, the team consists of a group of girls from a low income area in Queens that is plagued by gang violence. Milk will be raising money for STOKED, a non-profit mentoring program/organization for at risk youth through action sports. They’ve a mission of developing Successful Teens with Opportunity, Knowledge, Experience, and Determination.

Some of the festivities will include interactive games and a chance to star in your own photoshoot.  Donations have already been streaming in from fashion friends, celebrities, and professional sports teams. All proceeds will be donated to charity.

Marni asked children from Columbia, Tibet, India, Guatamala and Brazil to capture what they say in the mirror. Of the 7,000 drawings they received, the fashion house chose 6 self-portraits to be printed on mens’ and womens’ shirts, available now at Marni’s Virtual Boutique.
