Carrying on from last season, Dior Homme is launching a project specifically conceived by Kris Van Assche and oriented to a new connected generation that gets its fashion and trend information from online magazines and blogs. Shot by photographer Willy Vanderperre, this alternative communication endeavor is composed of a video titled “The Wanderer” and includes a series of nine photos that give an unprecedented insight into the Dior Homme fall/winter 2011 collection.
Monochromes of black,white, copper and Airforce Blue set the tone for Dior Homme’s S/S 2012 collection. Every season I try to redefine each fashion week by its strongest characteristics. The fashion weeks personalities rarely change but perhaps my perspective on them continues to evolve. Looking at Paris this season I would say that Paris’s personality is “Classic Remixed”. All silhouettes have a similar structural starting point but what makes the featured designer’s collections stand out is how each pulls, crops and tweaks it to express a very different aesthetic, within the variables of “Classic Remixed”. This editorial has always been a bit of a dream boat, stumbled across it looking through old menswear photographic archives and fell in lust again. Talented musician boys with the greasiest of hair yet ever so immaculate ensembles. Oh the days of Hedi Slimane for Dior Homme with Pete Doherty as a muse. If anyone has any clue as to what this editorial is called and which magazine it is from, the information would be much appreciated.
Mens Fashion Week is always an exciting time and depending on where I am in my work and life I see the shows as they occur or over a longer period of time.
