British Fashion Awards

Congrats to Stella McCartney for winning Designer of the Year at the British Fashion Awards in London on Tuesday night, hosted by Zoe Ball at the Lawrence Hall in Westminster. She is only the 5th woman in over 20 years to win the award. Vivienne Westwood also received the Outstanding Achievement Award. Christopher Kane, received the New Designer accolade, while Anya Hindmarch took the Designer Brand award. Agyness Deyn, everyone’s favorite model, won Model of the Year. The new Isabella Blow Award for Fashion Creator, established in memory of the late stylist who died in May this year, was presented by her widower, Detmar, and Philip Treacy, the milliner whose career she launched, to the production Has anyone seen the leg necklace?

Alexander McQueen SS ’08 Tribute to Isabella Blow

Previously we wrote about Isabella Blow’s lasting influence on fashion.
It’s really no coincidence that afterwards I found out that Alexander
McQueens’s SS ’08 show was in memory to this fantastic icon. A fantastic
designer and sentimentalist, his collection is amazing. He really pushed
himself this season to really honor his friend,the late, great Isabella.

Nostalgia: Isabella Blow

Seems like countless magazines are telling me that fashion hats are back. This news, along with Halloween coming up, made me remember that it’s been about 6 months since Isabella Blow, who rocked the coolest and most avant-garde hats, passed away. Along with being an international style icon, director, and muse, she discovered model Sophie Dahl and designer Alexander McQueen.Though she is no longer with us , her mark on fashion continues.
