Clare Waight Keller is like the new girl at school. Unlike her three creative director predecessors, Stella McCartney, Phoebe Philo, and Hannah McGibbon, who all graduated from Central Saint Martins and were promoted from within Chloé, Claire studied at London’s Royal College of Art and is a straight-hire from Pringle of Scotland. New collections are always said to be the designer’s “most personal one to date”, but in the case of Prada’s S/S 2012, it’s honestly the best description you can come up with. The season’s assortment of below-the-knee skirts, twinsets, and long boxy jackets are pieces we’d expect to find in Miuccia Prada’s own wardrobe.
