TrendHome: Raf Simons’ Home [Antwerp]

Today TrendHome brings us into one of Trendland’s favorite fashion designers home. Raf Simons’ mid-century Modernist two-story, open-floor-plan apartment in Antwerp has become his sanctuary. Simons’ opened his door to WSJ and we can have a peak of his wonderful art and furniture collection.

In addition to a Pierre Jeanneret sofa and chairs and Mike Kelley framed flags, the living room has a Noguchi coffee table and George Nakashimi bench.

“If Raf Simons weren’t the influential fashion designer behind Jil Sander and his own eponymous line, he’d like to be a ceramicist. “There’s something so romantic about it,” he says. “I think about the South of France, the nature of clay, working with your hands.”

“I find it relaxing to be in touch with creations by other people,”
